I have a 2004 2.3 35S12, it has the floor mounted 5 speed stick. How easy is it to swap to a 6 speed gearbox? I'm not bothered about the dashboard mounted gear lever, a 6 speed floor shift will be ok. Does the 6 speed have a higher final drive from the 5 speed? I run the van as a camper so it's pretty light most of the time so a higher top gear would be useful on long runs. Are there any other things to be considered? Such as: speedo sensor? Gearbox length and therefore propshaft length? Is the gearbox similar in size? |
