Without warning the side sliding door went faulty. Although it unlocks and the handle operates the cable to the lock it will not release. I have removed the push rivets from the internal cover and spay lubed the afending catch but still it will not open. Can anybody help, please. |

Get inside and peel the rubber seal away from the top rear of the door aperture. Look at the top rear catch. It may have latched and missed the pin, jamming the door. You can free it off by poking a screwdriver through while unlatching the door. |

HELP I am still haven't been able to open the side sliding door. Thank you Deveron53 for your reply but door is not hooked at the top. It seems to held in the middle by the catch. I have adjusted the horizontal opening rod (making it shorter in case it had stretched, using the white plastic clip) but it made no difference.I have got a pair of pliers and pulled it ,but still it will not release. I have tried lifting the door. I have slackened off the adjustable curved arm that brings it in to squash the door seal, still no go. I have a complication also that as it is a van conversion, I have a cupboard in front of the lock when it is closed like it is now. Does anyone know my next step? Thank you for reading this. IAN |

Two man job I reckon, someone to push the door in/lift it whilst pulling on the rod inside the lower panel. Also just double check the top catch, if its unlatched you should be able to flex the top rear corner of the door in and out (the top catch often breaks off which is why so many Dailys have the door sitting proud at the back) |
