I've just had a quote from Iveco main dealer for £780 to change the cam belt. That shocked me. I'll prepare to do the job myself, I've ordered a cam belt. is it a matter of just following the manual? Iveco dealer thought they had to take the front bumper (I've got a 4x4) and radiator out. That surprised me as there seems to be good access (I had no trouble doing the alternator for example). If I'm doing the job myself then it's not a big problem to take the front off. Any advice or tips would be welcome. |

Yes you need to take the bumper off and the radaitor to get access to the crankshaft pulley bolt. Its not a big job and £780 is a piss take! If you do a search on the forum there is some good how too guides. It's easy enough to do yourself, your best changing the water p/p pulley belt and the cambelt tensioners at the same time. Speak to zepplin and tell them what your doing, they will let you know what you need. Good luck |

im planning to do the cambelt on my van, removing the bumper seems straightforward enough, (im gonna give the bolts a weekly spray with wd 40 starting now so they shouldnt be too seized, but, when looking for the cambelt kit to rrplace it, there are a boggling number of apparently different options, mine is a 93 2.8 turbo diesel (non intercooler) that started life as a large van with a plated weight in the region of 5 tons but has been downplated to 3.5t i assume after the conversion. any tips on pinning down the exact cambelt kit , and i agree on changine the water pump whilst in there just cos im not keen to be removing the front end too often! |

I paid a fraction of that at an independent HGV place. Mark, if I haven't confused you with someone else, I vaguely recall that you may be near me in Sussex? If so, try Truck Services of Sussex in Newhaven, or RDH Commercials in Lewes. |

Thought a 4x4 has a chain , not a belt? Anyway if you follow manual you can do it yourself, just get a- good tool too loose big bolt on crankshaft pulley. Yes remove bumper and radiator first to get good access and replace tension roller always.. did it myself , just follow instructions in manual |

Mine has had a 2.ltr engine put in. I was told it was a new engine, but no paperwork to confirm it. it may have only done 50k miles, but I can't be sure. |
