I'm starting to seriously think about starting my camper conversion and the first thing I want to do is get the suspension sorted. It does list an inch or so, so I think the springs need sorting. It started life as a 1998 49 10 with the 2.8 engine. Any ideas where to get them refurbished or good 2nd hand ones from close to Barnsley is possible. I have looked but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I have two sets of 4 plus three springs......two of of my 4,5 ton 4x4 that were saggy and two from a 4x4 that I bought in bits which apart from being rusty are okay, They are not worth much at all second hand and I am in Dorset so shipping wont be cheap....if you want them let me know and you can have them and maybe add an extra leaf from the older set to make 5 plus three. I have U bolts. If not and you have the monet new ones from jones springs are good. I am away until tuesday

ive used myhermes for delivery of weighty parcels before now. but before you go further, its worth remembering that if you are fitting out the van, you might end up putting more weight on one side than the other and having it lean slightly the other way. so, perhaps get it started and see how it settles. you may find that by putting heavier items on the higher side, you finish off leveling it out anyway. just my two pennorth. alternatively, some firms sell spring assistor kits that suplement the original springs with additional ones that take some of the strain.

Regardless of that, even though a valid point. knackered springs are knackered springs and need replacing anyway. Will probably be getting air bags too but the springs are saggy and shot.

there are still companies, albeit theyre getting rare now, that will take your old springs and re temper them so they are the correct strength, rather than buying new ones. these spring places were once quite common when much of the vehicle fleet had leaf springs, but theyre now few and far between. i know of a place in manchester that does it but nowhere else, although im sure there are others.

I used to work at one, Litharts in Wakefield. Costs less to buy new than it does to have the old ones re tempered.

Just a thought i had a similiar list to starboard.......
I had an adjustment bar on the suspension which altered height for levelling.......

Maybe Worth a look.....
