Hi Can anyone give me some directions on removing the front bumper on an Iveco Daily 35.8 Leader Plus (1998 - naturally aspirated) van? I've looked through the Iveco workshop manual but there seems to be no reference to the bumper removal - unless I've missed it somehow. Any advice or links to a how to guide would be appreciated many thanks Barry |

if its anything like mine, then remove the front panel with the headlights and radiator grille, iirc its only 4 bolts. once its off you can see the bolts securing the front bumper from the inside, from memory there are 8 bolts, 2 at each side into the wings and two at each side on the front. id advise giving them a damn good soaking with wd40 beforehand to try and soak them so they come out easier. mine look pretty rusty and i doubt that its an unusual thing for them to be seized. |

Thanks johnr - I hadn't thought of taking the front grill off. I struggled yesterday trying to inspect the side brackets from underneath - which involved loosening some plastic housings so that they drop down enough to get a hand in. It wasn't an easy job and I've had to put them back now in order to use the van. I did get my hand onto one of the side brackets - the bolts going into the bumper were tight solid and very difficult to get a spanner in there to get any leverage so I left them. The other side of the L shaped bracket had two bolts going into another long bracket coming out from the engine space. These bolts had rounded heads so look like they can't be removed or are part of the bracket? I have an exploded diagram from IVECO which shows these bolts as part of the bracket (12) fixed to the long bracket (17) by means of a nut and washer. It occurred to me it might be easier to remove these nuts (if I can get to them) if I couldn't get the bolts holding the bumper to the bracket to budge. I'll have a look at removing the grill and see where that gets me. many thanks B |

Yes removing the front grill made it easier to get to the side bumper bracket bolts without having to remove the wheel shrouds. So I successfully removed the bumper for an inspection of all the fiitings that need replacing and have now put it back for the time being Many thanks for your advice Johnr |
